2024 Scholar Welcome Event

On July 25 and 26, our Student Success team hosted their first signature event for the year – The New Scholar Welcome Event in Minnesota! This special gathering welcomed over 20 new APIA scholarship recipients from across the greater Minnesota area. In collaboration with our esteemed partners, LEAP, uAspire, and members of our Scholarships team, we organized a series of workshops designed to empower our new Scholars. The workshops focused on understanding cultural values and navigating college costs—key topics to set our Scholars up for success as they embark on their educational journeys. Attendees also heard from our AANAPISI partners in The Asian Pacific American Resource Center at the University of Minnesota for insight on how to connect with campus resources. The goal for the day was to introduce Scholars to our community, while engaging in dialogue and sharing resources. The day concluded with a Zine workshop, where Scholars walked away with a mini booklet full of self-care tips.
