About the role:

The Manager of Scholar Enrichment plays a key role in advancing holistic support for APIA Scholars throughout their academic journey. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Scholar Enrichment, this role manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of high-impact scholar enrichment initiatives, signature events, and communications strategies that foster belonging, promote career readiness and financial literacy, while supporting academic persistence and degree completion through the scholar journey. The Manager also coordinates key projects, contributes to departmental strategy, and supervises staff or interns as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scholar Enrichment and Program Management [60%]

  • Develop and coordinate both virtual and in-person engagement opportunities that build community, promote leadership, and support student wellbeing
  • Design, plan, and execute scholar-facing enrichment initiatives, including signature programs like CareerFest, virtual programming, community-building efforts, such as scholar self-care packages and graduation stoles
  • Lead planning and execution of Scholar events, including coordinating logistics, vendors, timelines, and evaluation, in partnership with internal teams
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine facilitators, speakers, panelists, etc. that align with program content while coordinating facilitator agreements and payments in partnership with Finance and Operations
  • Support with the development of program materials, including scholar travel policies, code of conducts, know before you go guides, program books, and post-event reports
  • Lead direct communication with scholars in collaboration with the Scholar Enrichment Associate, including managing shared inboxes, Discord engagement, and the monthly Scholar Newsletter
  • Work with scholars directly to promote access to opportunities and resources that support them with academic and graduation persistence, career readiness, financial literacy, and community building

Data, Evaluation, and Reporting [20%]

  • Track scholar participation, program outcomes, and engagement trends across all scholar initiatives
  • Build and maintain Salesforce dashboards and reports that highlight program data and insights
  • Use data to inform continuous improvement of scholar enrichment programming and share as needed across organization

Collaborative Leadership & Strategy [10%]

  • Contribute to and support execution of scholar engagement strategies
  • Coordinate project responsibilities within the Scholar Enrichment team through contribution of team planning and collaboration
  • Support in setting departmental annual goals for scholar engagement and experiential learning
  • Help track and report on impact metrics for events and programs to evaluate success and inform future planning

Cross Functional Collaboration [10%]

  • Collaborate with the Development team to explore and execute scholar engagement opportunities that support donor and funder relationships
  • Work with the Finance and Business Operations team to support event budgeting, payments, contracts, and reconciliation
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to align messaging, develop promotional materials, and support storytelling initiatives
  • Coordinate with the Scholarships team to align scholar communications, engagement timelines, and relevant programming touchpoints
  • Support in the transition of Scholar to alumni

Qualifications: Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • BA/BS in education, student affairs, higher education administration, nonprofit management, or related fields; or 5+ years equivalent experience required
  • We welcome candidates with at least 2 to 4 years of experience in student support, college access/success, youth development, or nonprofit program management
  • Experience designing and implementing impactful student programming, including large-scale events, virtual engagement, and communications strategies
  • Familiarity with scholarship programs and a strong understanding of the barriers faced by first-generation, low-income, and/or Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) college students
  • Experience in end-to-end program and event planning, including budgeting, vendor management, communications, and post-event evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience developing and using metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to delegate tasks effectively, manage team capacity, and foster a collaborative team culture
  • Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as Development, Finance, Marketing, and Scholarships to align engagement efforts
  • Adept at working with and presenting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Deep commitment to educational equity and supporting historically underserved and underrepresented student populations, particularly AANHPI communities
  • A passion and devotion to APIA Scholars’ mission and a commitment and care for the success of our Scholars, and for students who are most in need

What We Offer

Salary range: $67,000-$80,000

Salary offer will be commensurate with experience of final selected candidate.
