CareerFest 3.0: Preparing our Scholars for Professional Success

At APIA Scholars, we are committed to preparing our Scholars for success beyond college and prepared for their career journeys. Our flagship program CareerFest as well as our virtual career development series ensure that Scholars have the tools, knowledge, and connections to thrive in the workforce.

This April 10-11 in Dallas, we will host CareerFest 3.0, a two-day, in-person intensive focused on career readiness and professional growth. What began in 2023 has now grown into a cornerstone of our college-to-career programming. The event is made possible through the generous support of Wells Fargo.

The program is built around these key areas:

• Skill Building Sessions: CareerFest will integrate career exploration, industry insights, and skill development to Scholars’ foundations for career readiness through key competencies and outcomes aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers, including: Career Development, Technology Innovation, Teamwork, and Critical Thinking, as well as financial literacy.
• Early Career Panel: Representatives from a wide range of industries will share their insights on effective communication, professionalism, teamwork, and inclusion
• Career Readiness Exhibit: SScholars will have the opportunity to network and connect with members from the APIA Scholars community to learn more about careers across a number of fields.

Why It Matters

For many college students and recent graduates, guidance and exposure to real-world opportunities can make all the difference in securing an internship or landing that first job. APIA Scholars’ Student Success Team designs programming that helps Scholars explore career options, engage with industry experts, and build the skills necessary for long-term career success.
