Black History Month

As I write this letter, I am literally changing my email “signature” from “Happy New Year” to “Black History Month 2022”. Time continues to fly, but I am bolstered by the fact that at APIA Scholars we are committed to making the most of each and every day and that we are privileged enough to work with and on behalf of our scholars. Part of that work includes lifting up other communities of color, standing alongside them, and being advocates, even in uncertain times. We enter 2022’s Black History Month at a time when our nation is still grappling with how to come together, and for many communities of color, how to effectively advocate for ourselves, let alone how to be effective advocates and allies for others. But we have a long history of doing just that, and as the saying goes, we are always more powerful together.

Black History Month provides all of us the opportunity to collectively uplift, celebrate, advocate, and — — Yes! — — continue to struggle and be allies with the Black Community. APIA Scholars is proud to honor our friends, colleagues, and partners in the Black Community throughout this month and every month. We see you. We hear you. We are with you.
